Sasad Resort - Sunrise & Sky Residential (7-8. phase)
Sasad Resort is a Cordia development residential project, which we were commissioned to design the phase 7 (Sunrise) and 8 (Sky) in 2017.
The design site is located in a prominent area of Budapest, bordered by Budaörsi út - Rupphegyi – Pagus-, and Madárhegyi roads. The area is going through a major transformation, with a series of condominiums being built, complemented by a large-scale theme park.
As requested by the client, 153-147 apartments have been built in two phases. Several building concepts were prepared for the site - showing different building sizes and layouts. Each building proposal was unique, either because of its position on the site or because of the layout of the floor plans. Cordia, the client opted for a concept of 3-3 buildings.
In the design of the facade of the buildings, we examined several ideas and options, during which the main aspects to which we had to respond during the design process were also took shape. One of the main considerations was to create an atmosphere that would be in „similar” to the name of the project, that is, to recreate the "resort" atmosphere in a way that would be felt and create a green environment suitable for relaxation and recreation. A further consideration was to ensure that the building masses were coherent but also varied in terms of size, and that they had a certain uniqueness, thus distinguishing them from previous phases.
The façades of the resulting buildings are generally characterised by exciting, warm-toned colours. For the higher-end penthouse apartments, we designed large-panel, coloured cladding and glass balustrade inserts that added a playful lightness to the exterior. The buildings have a central corridor as standard, with the staircase and lift located close to the building's centre. In order to create a more generous hall when entering the building, and to make the staircase approach more demanding, galleries were created by breaking through the ”lighting fields” at 2 levels. During the design process, we considered the creation of usable floor plans and also sought to create independently functioning, good-sized terrace areas. We designed 10 and 11 apartments per floor, each with a balcony or terrace. The 3-4 bedroom apartments are arranged around large terraces.
Overall, the realized building complex reflects the design preferences. It also includes community spaces that are usable and recreational for the residents, as the significant building spacing has been used to create interconnected green spaces that provide amenities for the residents.
